The role of IAM has evolved significantly in recent years. Traditional network perimeters have largely disappeared due to cloud computing, hybrid working, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications. Identity has become the primary security perimeter, meaning that every authentication request must be evaluated regardless of where the user or device is located.
At the same time, organisations must manage not only human users but also machine identities, APIs, service accounts, and AI agents, which often outnumber human identities. These identities require the same level of governance, monitoring, and lifecycle management as employee accounts.

The great cedar tree at the front of the hotel was planted by Charles I to celebrate the birth of his son.
